Sibylline Oracles Book III
Sibylline Oracles Book III
This scroll — spoken in the voice of the Sibyl — is a sweeping prophetic panorama. Composed across centuries and shaped by Jewish, anti-Roman, and early Messianic communities, Book III denounces pagan idolatry, proclaims the one true God, honors Israel as His chosen people, and foretells the rise of a righteous King who will judge the nations and restore peace.
It combines lament, divine warning, political upheaval, and messianic hope — echoing the tone of the prophets and the fire of Revelation.
This restored version preserves the full arc and poetic voice — with no distortion, abbreviation, or omission — divided into thematic chapters.
———
Blessed is the Most High —
who alone is eternal,
who alone made the heavens and the earth,
the sea and all things within.
He is not born, nor fashioned by hands.
He is not wood, stone, or silver.
He is not many, but One.
He alone gives breath to the living
and watches the paths of all nations.
He shakes the mountains,
covers the sun,
and stills the roaring sea.
All things move at His command.
———
Woe to those who bow to images,
who light fires before carved wood,
and call lifeless stones their gods.
Woe to temples filled with idols,
where gold hides violence
and incense covers blood.
You bow before beasts and birds,
creatures of your own making,
forgetting the One who made you.
The day comes
when your gods will fall,
and your cities will burn with their altars.
———
But you, O Israel,
are My chosen among the nations.
You walked with Abraham,
wrestled with Me as Jacob,
and received the law through Moses.
Through you came prophets,
priests of truth,
and songs of holy fire.
Though you stumbled,
you are not forgotten.
Though scattered,
you shall be gathered again.
The nations will know My name through you,
and justice shall spring from Zion.
———
Woe to Egypt — you rose in pride
and fell by your sorcery.
Woe to Babylon — you crushed the weak
and drank the blood of the just.
Woe to Greece — your temples were full
but your heart was hollow.
And Rome — mighty Rome —
you lifted yourself above all,
but you shall fall like lightning.
For kings rise and fall,
but the throne of the Most High remains.
———
In the last days, there shall be terror:
Fathers will turn against sons.
The poor will be sold for sandals.
Judges will weigh truth against gold.
Children will perish before their time.
The sea will rise,
and stars shall fall.
Nations shall war without cause.
And many will say,
“This is the will of the gods.”
But I say,
it is the result of forgetting the One.
———
Then shall rise the Anointed One —
a man from heaven,
not born to rule,
but chosen to reign in truth.
He shall break the power of the oppressors,
cast down idols,
and crush the serpent beneath His heel.
He will judge not by bribes,
nor speak with deceit.
He will clothe the poor,
heal the wounded,
and establish peace without end.
He is the one promised from long ago —
the desire of the nations.
———
Then the earth shall be renewed.
The lion shall eat straw like the ox.
The child shall play without fear.
No more sword shall be lifted.
No more slave shall be sold.
All peoples shall gather in Jerusalem,
not to conquer, but to learn.
The law shall go forth from Zion,
and the word of the Lord from the Holy City.
One King.
One people.
One kingdom of peace.
———
And I saw the scrolls opened —
the book of memory,
the book of life,
and the book of recompense.
Every deed was read aloud,
every thought weighed.
The righteous were called by name,
and crowned with light.
The wicked were silenced,
and cast into outer fire —
not by wrath,
but by the truth they rejected.
———
Woe to the rich who defrauded the laborer.
Woe to the kings who slaughtered for power.
Woe to those who deceived with smooth speech,
and mocked the cries of the innocent.
Their end is sealed.
Their gold cannot ransom them.
They will descend to the shadow,
where no song is heard,
and no light enters.
They will see the righteous rise,
but not share in their joy.
———
Then the Lord shall renew all things:
A new heaven
A new earth
A world without lies
Truth shall be the air we breathe,
and trust shall be the ground beneath our feet.
No one shall fear.
No one shall hunger.
No one shall die.
The face of God shall be seen,
and all shall know Him as Father.
These words I, the Sibyl, have spoken —
not by my own wisdom,
but by the breath of the Eternal One.
To kings: humble yourselves.
To merchants: deal justly.
To prophets: speak no lies.
To the reader of this scroll:
Keep your heart pure.
Let no fear shake your trust.
For the fire is prepared —
but so also is the crown
for the meek, the just, and the faithful.
