Sibylline Oracles Book II

This scroll continues the vision begun in Book I, echoing judgment themes but shifting toward geopolitical prophecy, condemnation of imperial pride, and the promise of the age to come. The voice of the Sibyl again emerges — now lamenting corruption, naming Rome as a central figure of oppression, and heralding divine vengeance.

It is a call for humility among nations and hope among the just — revealing that the kingdom of God comes not through empire but through justice, mercy, and fire from heaven.

———

Listen, O nations, and tremble.

The Most High does not sleep.

He sees the slaughter of the innocent,

the theft of the widow’s bread,

the cries of the slave beneath the rod.

He hears, and He will answer.

Woe to the cities of pride.

Woe to the kings who fatten themselves on lies.

Woe to the priests who sell truth for silver.

A fire is coming — not kindled by man.

A storm is rising — not stirred by sea.

The day of the Lord draws near.

———

Woe to you, great city of the west,

you who call yourself eternal.

You devour the nations like bread,

you crown tyrants and call it justice.

Your temples are filled with idols,

your courts with bribes,

your streets with blood.

You lifted yourself above all kingdoms,

but you will fall like lightning from the sky.

For you trusted not in the Maker of heaven,

but in your sword and your sorcery.

Your name shall be remembered

in the book of shame.

———

Before the final day, there shall be signs.

The sun shall be darkened at noon.

The moon shall turn to blood.

Stars shall fall from heaven like leaves in a storm.

The sea shall rise without wind.

The earth shall shake in strange places.

And men will say:

“This is nature.”

But the wise will know:

This is the voice of judgment.

———

But not all shall be swept away.

The humble shall remain —

those who feared God and walked in mercy.

They will be gathered like jewels,

hidden in the hand of the Most High.

They shall shine in the darkness,

and guide many back to truth.

Their names are already written in the scroll,

their tears already counted.

To them, the age to come belongs.

———

Then shall come the day

when fire will surround the earth like a cloak.

It will not burn trees,

but lies.

It will not consume stone,

but corruption.

The works of the wicked shall melt,

and every hidden thing will be exposed.

The books will be opened,

and no tongue shall deceive the Judge.

The breath of the Lord shall go out like wind,

and only truth shall stand.

———

After the fire, the earth shall be made new.

No sword shall be lifted.

No hunger shall remain.

Every tear shall be wiped away.

The wolf shall lie down with the lamb.

The Anointed One shall reign in peace,

and the nations shall learn war no more.

The wicked shall be no more,

but the righteous shall inherit the age to come.

The voice of the Sibyl shall fall silent,

for the truth will speak face to face.

O reader of this scroll,

turn now while there is time.

Let the proud fall to their knees,

and the deceiver learn silence.

For the time is appointed.

The Judge stands at the door.

The flame is prepared.

But so also is the crown —

for those who trust in the Holy One.
