Prayer of Manasseh
Prayer of Manasseh
O Lord Almighty,
God of our ancestors —
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob —
and of all who walk in truth:
You made the heavens and the earth
with all their order.
You shaped the seas.
You sealed the stars.
You know all things,
and nothing is hidden from Your gaze.
You stretch out mercy
to all who turn.
You do not delight in destruction,
but in restoration.
You are patient.
You are kind.
You wait for the soul to return.
And now — I return.
I have sinned, O Lord.
I have done what is evil in Your sight.
My hands are stained.
My heart was proud.
I set up idols in Your holy place.
I led others into shame.
I mocked the truth.
I silenced the prophets.
I walked in darkness.
I deserve nothing.
Not even breath.
Yet now I bend the knee of my heart.
I cry to You from the dust.
Not with entitlement —
but with trembling hope.
Forgive me, Lord.
Do not cast me away.
Do not remember my sins forever.
You are the God of mercy.
You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked.
You desire that all should turn and live.
So now — I turn.
I fall into Your hands.
Not because I am worthy,
but because You are good.
Wash me.
Renew me.
Raise me up
to walk in Your light.
I will praise You all my days.
My tongue will sing of Your righteousness.
My soul will rejoice in Your compassion.
For You alone
are the God of those who return.
Amen.
