The Apostrophe to Zion

I remember you for blessing, O Zion;

with all my strength I love you.

Blessed forever be your memory.

Great is your hope, O Zion;

peace and your awaited salvation will come.

Generation after generation will dwell in you,

and generations of the faithful will be your glory.

Those who long for the day of your salvation

will rejoice in the greatness of your glory.

They will nurse at the fullness of your honor,

and in your splendid courts they will walk.

The merits of your prophets you will remember,

and in the deeds of your faithful you will glory.

Cleanse violence from your midst;

let falsehood and iniquity be cut off from you.

Your children will rejoice within you,

and your treasured ones will be joined to you.

How they hoped for your salvation,

and your pure ones mourned for you.

Your hope, O Zion, does not perish,

and your longing is not forgotten.

Who has ever perished in righteousness,

or who has survived in his iniquity?

Receive a vision spoken concerning you,

and the dreams of the prophets sought for you.

Be exalted, and spread wide, O Zion;

praise the Most High, your redeemer;

let my soul be glad in your glory.
