Sapiential Admonitions

[Fragments of instruction in the form of a teacher addressing a pupil.]

Listen, my son, and do not refuse my teaching; incline your ear, and lay up my words in your heart. [Text missing] Walk in the way of the upright, and do not turn aside to the right or the left. Keep your tongue from deceit, and your lips from speaking guile.

Do not say, “I am rich,” and forget your Maker; do not say, “I have understanding,” and despise instruction. For all flesh is grass, and its strength as the dew of the morning. Fear God, and keep his commandments; this is the whole of wisdom. [Line damaged]
