Magical Uses of the Names of Solomon

[Archive witness: an ancient protective or ritual text, preserved as historical evidence — not doctrine, and not for practice.]

Late witnesses, on amulets, rings, and small writings, that invoke Solomon, to whom tradition ascribed authority over the spirits, and his seal, for protection and healing. Representative wording:

“The seal of Solomon, son of David, to whom was given dominion over the spirits: let the evil spirit flee from this house and from the one who wears this sign. [Line damaged]

“By the wisdom given to Solomon, and by the name of the God of Solomon, depart, you tormentor, and do no harm.”

[These witnesses are late, and the attribution to Solomon is legendary.]
