Christian Amulets and Protective Inscriptions
[Archive witness: an ancient protective or ritual text, preserved as historical evidence — not doctrine, and not for practice.]
Amulets and inscriptions worn or set up by Christians, bearing the cross, the names of the Trinity, and verses of Scripture. Representative wording:
“The cross of Christ; Jesus the Anointed conquers. Guard your servant who wears this from every sickness and every snare of the enemy, O Lord, by your holy name. Amen.”
“Our Father in the heavens, hallowed be your name. [Line damaged] Deliver us from the evil one. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?”
