Eupolemus — Fragments

[Fragments of a history of the kings of Judah, preserved in quotation.]

David subdued many nations and made his son Solomon king. Solomon, at the age of twelve, built the temple of God; and he wrote to Vaphres king of Egypt and to Suron king of Tyre, and they sent him craftsmen and timber and gold for the work. He built the temple of stone and cedar and gold, and its measurements were great; and when it was finished he offered sacrifice, and gave back the workers to their kings with gifts. [Line damaged]
