The compiler gathered the honey of the Scriptures and the fathers, as the bee gathers from many flowers; and he set it down for the profit of the reader, that he might taste wisdom and give glory to God. [Text missing]
He wrote of the creation, and of the patriarchs, and of the coming of the Anointed, and of the last things; and at each he set a word of praise: blessed be God, who orders the ages in wisdom, and brings all things to their appointed end. [Line damaged]
