Apocalypse of Thomas
Apocalypse of Thomas
I, Thomas the humble one,
was taken in spirit to a high place
as the voice of the Set-Apart One came to me:
“Rise, servant of truth,
scribe of the hidden warning,
for the end draws near
and the hearts of men are hardened.”
“Write what I shall show you,
so that those who remain may awaken
and prepare their lamps for the day of fire and light.”
———
“Behold, the times of the end
have been measured in secret,
and I will now unveil the twelve signs
that will come before the great revealing.”
“For many shall mock the truth,
and the love of many will grow cold.
Honor will fade,
and the proud will multiply.”
“The land will groan beneath injustice,
and the righteous will be hidden like pearls beneath the dust.”
———
“And this is the first sign:
The earth shall tremble without cause,
and the ground will split in places unknown.
The stars will stray from their paths,
and confusion will seize the heavens.”
“But those who trust in My name
shall not be moved,
for they are anchored beyond the shaking.”
———
“The second sign:
Fathers shall turn against sons,
and mothers against daughters.
Peace shall flee from households,
and bitterness will rise like smoke.”
“The third sign:
False prophets will rise,
declaring visions not from Me.
They will lead many astray,
for their words flatter but do not heal.”
———
“The fourth sign:
The seas shall roar without storm,
and the beasts shall leave their forests.”
“The fifth sign:
Famine shall spread across lands of plenty,
and the rich will hoard while the poor starve.”
“The rain will cease in its season,
and the ground will give back thorns.”
———
“In those days, the light shall fade.
The sun will shine dimly at noon,
and the moon will be stained like blood.”
“The stars shall grow silent,
and creation shall mourn —
for the order once held in trust is shaken.”
———
“But to the righteous I say:
Do not fear when you see these things,
for the day of deliverance draws near.”
“Let your hands be clean,
and your hearts full of trust.
Keep watch — for though the night deepens,
the dawn is appointed.”
———
“The seventh sign:
Cities shall be consumed in flame —
not by My hand, but by the hatred of men.”
“The eighth sign:
Voices will rise claiming to be Me —
but they do not bear My character.”
“The ninth sign:
The earth shall open in places long sealed,
and long-buried things shall be uncovered.”
“The tenth sign:
The messengers shall withdraw for a time,
and prayers will seem to echo without answer —
a test of those who remain faithful.”
———
“The eleventh sign:
A ruler shall arise
who binds the free
and silences the wise.”
“He will trample the covenant beneath his feet,
and boast in what he does not understand.”
“But his reign shall be brief,
and his end shall come swiftly —
for I will raise up a flame he cannot quench.”
———
“The twelfth sign shall shake all flesh:
The graves will stir,
and the righteous shall rise.”
“The children of light shall shine like the dawn,
and those who pierced My name shall wail.”
“The heavens will open,
and the scrolls of the righteous will be read aloud.
Every tear shall be weighed,
and every act remembered.”
———
“And then shall appear
the Anointed One — not with weapons,
but with the breath of life and the scepter of justice.”
“He shall gather the faithful from every nation,
and establish the Kingdom that cannot be shaken.”
“He will judge with mercy,
and reign in peace.
The wolf and the lamb shall lie down,
and the wounded shall be healed.”
———
“Blessed are those who believed without seeing,
and held fast though all seemed lost.”
“Blessed are the mourners,
for they shall dance in joy.
Blessed are the watchers,
for their eyes shall behold My glory.”
“And you, Thomas, write these things in a scroll,
seal them for the wise,
and let them awaken those whose ears still hear.
For the time is near,
and the light is rising.”
This scroll delivers a sobering vision of twelve final signs that will precede the restoration of all things. While darkness rises through conflict, falsehood, and natural upheaval, each sign invites the righteous to trust deeper. The final vision reveals the return of the Anointed One, the resurrection of the faithful, and a reign of justice, mercy, and peace.
This is not a message of doom — but a sacred warning to awaken, prepare, and remain rooted in trust.
