Merkavah Hymns

[Archive witness: hymns of the chariot mystics, in the manner of the angelic praise before the throne.]

King of kings, God of gods, Lord of lords,

who is girded with crowns,

before whom the holy creatures sing:

holy, holy, holy.

The throne of glory sings to him;

the wheels of the chariot give praise;

the hosts of fire cry out,

and the foundations of the height tremble.

Blessed be the name of the glory of his kingdom

from the place of his dwelling.

He is one, and his name is one,

and there is none beside him.

And the mystics said that whoever beholds the chariot must sing these songs without ceasing, as the angels do; for the song upholds the throne, and the praise never falls silent before him. [Text missing]
