Calendrical Prayer and Sacred Time Fragments
Calendrical Prayer and Sacred Time Fragments
[Prayers and blessings tied to the turning of the sacred year; preserved in fragments.]
Blessed be the God of Israel, who set the great lights for the appointed times, the sun for the seasons of the day and the moon and the stars for the signs of the feasts; who appointed the day and the night, the new moons and the sabbaths, the festivals and the years, each in its order, that his people might keep his appointed times and not stray. [Text missing]
Blessed be his name at the turning of the seasons,
at the beginning of the months,
and on the holy days he appointed.
Every day blesses him in its time,
and every season tells his glory.
At the first of the season we will bless him, and at its midst, and at its end; for he is faithful, and his appointed times do not fail, and his order does not change. [Line damaged]
