As a tree planted by streams of water yields its fruit in season, so is the man who meditates on the law day and night; but the wicked are like chaff that the wind drives away. [Text missing]

As silver is refined in the furnace, so is the heart tried by affliction; the dross is taken away, and the pure remains. As a shepherd seeks the lost sheep, so the LORD seeks the one who turns back to him.

Do not boast of tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring; the rich man trusts in his wealth, and it fails him in the day of wrath, but the one who fears God has a strong refuge. [Line damaged]
