Daily Prayers from Qumran

[Prayers appointed for evening and morning through the days of the month, marked by the going down and rising of the light; preserved in fragments.]

[In the evening they shall bless and say:] Blessed be the God of Israel, who [Text missing]. This day he has renewed the gates of evening, and gathered in the light, and brought on the darkness, a rest for the children of his covenant. Peace be upon you, O Israel.

[And in the morning, when the light goes forth, they shall bless and say:] Blessed be the God of Israel, who has opened the gate of the east, and the light has come out over the earth at the appointed time he established, by the laws of the great light of heaven. This day is the third of the month [Line damaged]; we, his holy people, bless his name. Peace be upon you, O Israel.

So they reckoned the prayers through the days of the month, evening and morning, naming the day and giving thanks to the One who set the lights in their courses. [Text missing]
