The Concept of Our Great Power

Whoever knows our great power will become invisible, and the fire will not be able to consume him, but it will purify and destroy all that is yours. Know the manner of my passing; understand the ages and how they are. [Text missing]

There was the fleshly age; it came to be through the waters, when the great power purposed to send a flood upon all the haughtiness of the flesh; and the waters came, and all flesh that the power did not preserve perished. Then arose the psychic age, a small one, mingled with bodies; it begot souls in many forms, and it endures for its appointed time.

But there will come the one who knows the great power. He will receive it, and know me, and be joined with the imperishable light; and the rulers of the dark will not be able to hold him. He will speak in parables, and they will not understand; the archons will seek him to destroy him, not knowing that by his going he undoes their power. Then will come the consummation: the sun will darken, the powers will be troubled, and a great fire will appear and burn until it has consumed all that is below, and purified those who belong to the light. And the ages will be dissolved, and the souls that have known the great power will go up to the rest. [Line damaged]
