Psalms - Book One
Blessed is the one
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stand in the way of those who stray,
nor sit in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the instruction of YHWH,
and on His teaching he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
that yields its fruit in season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so—
they are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor the strayers in the gathering of the just.
For YHWH knows the path of the righteous,
but the path of the wicked will fade away.
Why do the nations rage
and the peoples imagine a futile thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against YHWH and against His Anointed, saying:
“Let us tear off their cords
and throw away their yoke.”
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Sovereign mocks them.
Then He speaks to them in His wrath
and terrifies them in His burning anger, saying:
“I have set My King on Zion,
My holy mountain.”
I will tell of the decree:
YHWH said to Me, “You are My Son;
today I have brought You forth.
Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance,
and the ends of the earth as Your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron
and shatter them like a vessel of clay.”
Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be instructed, O rulers of the earth.
Serve YHWH with reverence,
and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
and you perish in the way—
for His wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.
YHWH, how many are my foes!
Many rise up against me.
Many are saying of my life,
“There is no rescue for him in God.”
But You, YHWH, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.
I cry aloud to YHWH,
and He answers me from His holy mountain.
I lay down and slept;
I woke again, for YHWH sustained me.
I will not be afraid of tens of thousands
who have set themselves against me all around.
Arise, YHWH! Rescue me, my God!
For You strike all my enemies on the cheek;
You break the teeth of the wicked.
Rescue belongs to YHWH.
Let Your blessing be on Your people.
Answer me when I call,
O God of my justice!
You gave me room when I was in distress;
be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
O sons of humanity,
how long shall My glory be turned to shame?
How long will you love emptiness
and seek after deception?
Know that YHWH has set apart
the faithful for Himself.
YHWH hears when I call to Him.
Tremble, and do not sin;
commune with your hearts on your beds, and be still.
Offer right offerings,
and put your trust in YHWH.
Many are saying, “Who will show us any good?”
Lift up the light of Your face upon us, YHWH!
You have put more joy in my heart
than they have when their grain and wine abound.
In peace I will both lie down and sleep,
for You alone, YHWH, make me dwell in safety.
Give ear to my words, YHWH;
consider my groaning.
Give attention to the voice of my cry,
my King and my God,
for to You I pray.
YHWH, in the morning You hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before You and watch.
For You are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil may not dwell with You.
The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes;
You hate all who do violence.
You destroy the speakers of lies;
YHWH abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful.
But I, through the abundance of Your covenant love,
will enter Your house.
I will bow down toward Your holy temple
in reverence of You.
Lead me, YHWH, in Your righteousness
because of my enemies;
make Your way straight before me.
For there is no truth in their mouth;
their heart is destruction itself.
Their throat is an open grave;
they flatter with their tongue.
Make them bear their guilt, O God;
let them fall by their own schemes.
Because of their many transgressions cast them out,
for they have rebelled against You.
But let all who take refuge in You rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread Your shelter over them,
that those who love Your name may exult in You.
For You bless the righteous, YHWH;
You surround them with favor
like a shield.
YHWH, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
nor discipline me in Your wrath.
Be gracious to me, YHWH, for I am faint;
heal me, YHWH, for my bones are trembling.
My being also is greatly troubled—
and You, YHWH—how long?
Return, YHWH, deliver my life;
rescue me for the sake of Your covenant love.
For in death there is no remembrance of You;
in Sheol, who will give You praise?
I am weary with my groaning;
every night I flood my bed with weeping;
I drench my couch with tears.
My eye wastes away because of grief;
it grows weak because of all my oppressors.
Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity,
for YHWH has heard the sound of my weeping.
YHWH has heard my plea;
YHWH accepts my prayer.
All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled;
they shall turn back and be put to sudden shame.
YHWH my God, in You I take refuge;
save me from all my pursuers and rescue me,
lest like a lion they tear my life apart,
dragging me away with none to deliver.
YHWH my God, if I have done this—
if there is injustice on my hands,
if I have repaid a friend with evil
or plundered my enemy without cause—
then let the enemy pursue me and overtake me;
let him trample my life to the ground
and lay my honor in the dust.
Arise, YHWH, in Your anger;
lift Yourself up against the rage of my enemies.
Awake for me; You have appointed judgment.
Let the gathering of the peoples be around You;
and over them return on high.
YHWH judges the peoples.
Judge me, YHWH, according to my righteousness
and according to the integrity that is in me.
Let the evil of the wicked come to an end,
but establish the righteous—
You who test the hearts and innermost thoughts,
O righteous God.
My shield is with God,
who saves the upright in heart.
God is a righteous judge,
a God who feels indignation every day.
If one does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword;
He has bent and readied His bow.
He has prepared His deadly weapons;
He makes His arrows fiery shafts.
Behold, the wicked one conceives evil
and is pregnant with trouble
and gives birth to deception.
He makes a pit, digging it out,
and falls into the hole he has made.
His mischief returns upon his own head,
and his violence falls on his own skull.
I will give thanks to YHWH
according to His righteousness,
and I will sing praise to the name
of YHWH Most High.
YHWH, our Sovereign,
how majestic is Your name in all the earth!
You have set Your splendor above the heavens.
Out of the mouths of little ones and infants
You have established strength
because of Your adversaries,
to silence the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which You have set in place—
what is humanity that You are mindful of us,
and the child of earth that You care for us?
Yet You have made him a little lower than divine beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet:
all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
YHWH, our Sovereign,
how majestic is Your name in all the earth!
I will give thanks to YHWH with my whole heart;
I will recount all Your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
When my enemies turn back,
they stumble and perish before Your face.
For You have upheld my right and my cause;
You sat on the throne giving just judgment.
You rebuked the nations,
You destroyed the wicked;
You blotted out their name forever and ever.
The enemy is finished, in ruins everlasting;
their cities You have uprooted—
even the memory of them has perished.
But YHWH sits enthroned forever;
He has established His throne for judgment.
He judges the world with righteousness;
He governs the peoples with equity.
YHWH is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know Your name trust in You,
for You, YHWH, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Sing praises to YHWH, who dwells in Zion!
Declare among the peoples His deeds.
For He who avenges blood remembers them;
He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.
Be gracious to me, YHWH!
See my affliction from those who hate me,
You who lift me up from the gates of death,
that I may recount all Your praise
in the gates of the daughter of Zion—
that I may rejoice in Your rescue.
The nations have sunk in the pit they made;
in the net they hid, their own foot is caught.
YHWH has made Himself known; He has done justice;
the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.
Selah.
The wicked shall return to the realm of the dead,
all the nations that forget God.
For the needy shall not always be forgotten,
and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever.
Arise, YHWH! Let not man prevail!
Let the nations be judged before You!
Put them in fear, YHWH!
Let the nations know they are but human.
Why, YHWH, do You stand far away?
Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?
In arrogance the wicked pursue the poor—
let them be caught in the schemes they have devised.
For the wicked boasts of the cravings of his being;
the greedy renounces YHWH.
In the pride of his face, the wicked does not seek Him;
all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
His ways prosper at all times;
Your judgments are on high, out of his sight.
As for all his foes, he scoffs at them.
He says in his heart, “I shall not be moved;
throughout all generations I shall not meet adversity.”
His mouth is filled with cursing and deceit and oppression;
under his tongue are mischief and iniquity.
He sits in ambush in the villages;
in hiding places he murders the innocent.
His eyes stealthily watch for the helpless;
he lurks in secret like a lion in his thicket;
he seizes the poor, drawing them into his net.
He says in his heart, “God has forgotten,
He hides His face, He will never see it.”
Arise, YHWH! O God, lift up Your hand!
Do not forget the afflicted!
Why does the wicked spurn God
and say in his heart, “You will not call to account”?
But You do see, for You behold mischief and vexation,
that You may take it into Your hands.
To You the helpless commits himself;
You have been the helper of the orphan.
Break the arm of the wicked and evildoer;
call his wickedness to account till none is found.
YHWH is Sovereign forever and ever;
the nations perish from His land.
You hear, YHWH, the desire of the humble;
You will strengthen their heart;
You will incline Your ear
to do justice for the orphan and the oppressed,
so that man who is of the earth
may strike terror no more.
In YHWH I take refuge.
How can you say to my being,
“Flee like a bird to your mountain”?
For behold, the wicked bend the bow;
they make ready their arrow on the string,
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart.
If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?
YHWH is in His holy temple;
YHWH’s throne is in heaven;
His eyes see, His eyelids test the children of humanity.
YHWH tests the righteous,
but His soul hates the wicked and the lover of violence.
Let Him rain coals on the wicked;
fire and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.
For YHWH is righteous; He loves righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold His face.
Help, YHWH, for the loyal one is gone;
the faithful have vanished from among the children of man.
Everyone utters lies to his neighbor;
with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.
May YHWH cut off all flattering lips,
the tongue that makes great boasts,
those who say, “With our tongue we will prevail,
our lips are with us—who is master over us?”
“Because the poor are plundered,
because the needy groan,
I will now arise,” says YHWH.
“I will set him in safety
from him who puffs at him.”
The words of YHWH are pure words,
like silver refined in a furnace on the ground,
purified seven times.
You, YHWH, will guard them;
You will preserve each one from this generation forever.
On every side the wicked prowl,
as vileness is exalted among the children of man.
How long, YHWH?
Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
How long must I take counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
Consider and answer me, YHWH my God;
light up my eyes,
lest I sleep the sleep of death,
lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”
lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
But I have trusted in Your covenant love;
my heart shall rejoice in Your rescue.
I will sing to YHWH,
for He has dealt bountifully with me.
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt; they do abominable deeds;
there is none who does good.
YHWH looks down from heaven
on the children of humanity,
to see if there are any who understand,
any who seek God.
They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt;
there is none who does good,
not even one.
Have they no knowledge, all the workers of iniquity,
who eat up My people as they eat bread
and do not call upon YHWH?
There they are in great fear,
for God is with the generation of the righteous.
You would put to shame the plans of the poor,
but YHWH is his refuge.
Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When YHWH restores the fortunes of His people,
let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad!
YHWH, who may dwell in Your tent?
Who may live on Your holy mountain?
He who walks with integrity and does what is right,
and speaks truth in his heart;
who does not slander with his tongue,
and does no evil to his neighbor,
nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
but who honors those who fear YHWH;
who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
who does not put out his money at interest
and does not take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be shaken.
Preserve me, O God,
for in You I take refuge.
I say to YHWH, “You are my Master;
I have no good apart from You.”
As for the holy ones in the land,
they are the noble, in whom is all my delight.
The sorrows of those who chase after another increase;
I will not pour out their libations of blood,
nor take their names on my lips.
YHWH is my portion and my cup;
You hold my lot.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a beautiful inheritance.
I bless YHWH who gives me counsel;
in the night also my conscience instructs me.
I have set YHWH always before me;
because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my being rejoices;
my body also dwells secure.
For You will not abandon my being to the realm of the dead,
nor will You let Your holy one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
in Your presence is fullness of joy;
at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Hear a just cause, YHWH; attend to my cry!
Give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit.
Let my vindication come from You;
let Your eyes behold what is right.
You have tried my heart,
You have visited me by night;
You have tested me, and You find no evil.
I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.
With regard to the works of humanity,
by the word of Your lips
I have avoided the ways of the violent.
My steps have held fast to Your paths;
my feet have not slipped.
I call upon You, for You will answer me, O God;
incline Your ear to me; hear my words.
Wondrously show Your covenant love,
O Savior of those who seek refuge
from their adversaries at Your right hand.
Keep me as the apple of the eye;
hide me in the shadow of Your wings,
from the wicked who do me violence,
my deadly enemies who surround me.
They close their hearts to pity;
with their mouths they speak arrogantly.
They have now surrounded our steps;
they set their eyes to cast us to the ground.
He is like a lion eager to tear,
as a young lion lurking in ambush.
Arise, YHWH! Confront him, bring him low!
Deliver my life from the wicked by Your sword—
from men of this world whose portion is in this life.
You fill their belly with Your treasure;
they are satisfied with children,
and leave their abundance to their infants.
As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness;
when I awake, I shall be satisfied with seeing Your likeness.
I love You, YHWH, my strength.
YHWH is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my mountain in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my rescue, my stronghold.
I call upon YHWH, who is worthy of praise,
and I am rescued from my enemies.
The cords of death encircled me;
the torrents of destruction terrified me.
The cords of the realm of the dead entangled me;
the snares of death confronted me.
In my distress I called upon YHWH;
to my God I cried for help.
From His temple He heard my voice,
and my cry came before Him—into His ears.
Then the earth reeled and rocked;
the foundations of the mountains trembled;
they quaked because He was angry.
Smoke rose from His nostrils,
and consuming fire from His mouth;
glowing coals blazed forth from Him.
He bowed the heavens and came down;
thick darkness was under His feet.
He rode on a cherub and flew;
He came swiftly on the wings of the wind.
He made darkness His covering,
His canopy around Him—
dark rainclouds of the skies.
Out of the brightness before Him
hailstones and coals of fire broke through the clouds.
YHWH also thundered in the heavens,
and the Most High uttered His voice—
hailstones and coals of fire.
He sent out His arrows and scattered them;
He flashed forth lightning and routed them.
Then the channels of the sea were seen,
and the foundations of the world were laid bare
at Your rebuke, O YHWH,
at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.
He reached down from on high; He took me;
He drew me out of many waters.
He rescued me from my strong enemy,
from those who hated me,
for they were too mighty for me.
They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
but YHWH was my support.
He brought me out into a spacious place;
He rescued me because He delighted in me.
YHWH dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands He rewarded me.
For I have kept the ways of YHWH,
and have not wickedly departed from my God.
For all His judgments were before me,
and His statutes I did not put away from me.
I was blameless before Him,
and I kept myself from guilt.
So YHWH has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands in His sight.
With the faithful You show Yourself faithful;
with the blameless You show Yourself blameless;
with the pure You show Yourself pure;
but with the crooked You show Yourself shrewd.
For You save a humble people,
but the haughty eyes You bring down.
For it is You who light my lamp;
YHWH my God lightens my darkness.
For by You I can run against a troop,
and by my God I can leap over a wall.
This God—His way is perfect;
the word of YHWH is tested;
He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.
For who is God, but YHWH?
And who is a rock, except our God?
The God who girds me with strength
and makes my way straight—
He makes my feet like a deer’s
and sets me secure on the heights.
He trains my hands for war,
so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
You have given me the shield of Your salvation,
and Your right hand supported me,
and Your gentleness has made me great.
You gave a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip.
I pursued my enemies and overtook them,
and did not turn back until they were consumed.
I struck them down, so they could not rise;
they fell under my feet.
For You girded me with strength for the battle;
You made those who rose against me bow beneath me.
You made my enemies turn their backs to me,
and I destroyed those who hated me.
They cried for help, but there was none to save;
they cried to YHWH, but He did not answer them.
I beat them fine as dust before the wind;
I cast them out like mud in the streets.
You delivered me from strife with the people;
You made me the head of the nations;
a people whom I had not known served me.
As soon as they heard, they obeyed me;
foreigners came cringing to me.
Foreigners lost heart
and came trembling out of their fortresses.
YHWH lives, and blessed be my Rock,
and exalted be the God of my rescue—
the God who gave me vengeance
and subdued peoples under me,
who delivered me from my enemies.
Yes, You lifted me up above those who rose against me;
You rescued me from the man of violence.
Therefore I will give thanks to You, YHWH, among the nations,
and sing praises to Your name.
Great salvation He gives to His king,
and shows covenant love to His anointed,
to David and his offspring forever.
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the expanse proclaims the work of His hands.
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words,
yet their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their message to the end of the world.
In them He has set a tent for the sun,
which comes out like a bridegroom from his chamber,
and like a strong man runs its course with joy.
Its rising is from one end of the heavens,
and its circuit to the other end,
and nothing is hidden from its heat.
The instruction of YHWH is perfect, reviving the being;
the testimony of YHWH is trustworthy, making the simple wise.
The precepts of YHWH are right, rejoicing the heart;
the command of YHWH is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The reverence of YHWH is clean, enduring forever;
the judgments of YHWH are true and altogether righteous.
More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings from the honeycomb.
By them Your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
Who can discern his errors?
Cleanse me from hidden faults.
Also keep back Your servant from willful sins;
let them not rule over me.
Then I shall be blameless,
and innocent of great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in Your sight,
YHWH, my rock and my redeemer.
May YHWH answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
May He send you help from the sanctuary
and support you from Zion!
May He remember all your offerings
and accept your burnt sacrifice.
Selah.
May He grant you your heart’s desire
and fulfill all your plans!
We will shout for joy over your rescue,
and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May YHWH fulfill all your requests!
Now I know that YHWH saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
with mighty victories by His right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of YHWH our God.
They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.
YHWH, rescue the king!
Answer us when we call.
O YHWH, in Your strength the king rejoices,
and in Your salvation how greatly he exults!
You have given him his heart’s desire
and have not withheld the request of his lips.
Selah.
For You meet him with blessings of goodness;
You set a crown of fine gold upon his head.
He asked life of You; You gave it to him—
length of days forever and ever.
His glory is great through Your salvation;
splendor and majesty You bestow on him.
For You make him most blessed forever;
You make him glad with the joy of Your presence.
For the king trusts in YHWH,
and through the covenant love of the Most High
he shall not be moved.
Your hand will find out all Your enemies;
Your right hand will find out those who hate You.
You will make them as a blazing oven when You appear.
YHWH will swallow them up in His wrath,
and fire will consume them.
You will destroy their descendants from the earth,
and their offspring from among the children of humanity.
Though they plan evil against You,
though they devise mischief, they will not succeed.
For You will put them to flight;
You will aim at their faces with Your bow.
Be exalted, O YHWH, in Your strength!
We will sing and praise Your power.
My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?
Why are You so far from saving me,
from the words of my groaning?
My God, I cry by day, but You do not answer,
and by night, and am not silent.
Yet You are holy,
enthroned on the praises of Israel.
In You our ancestors trusted;
they trusted, and You rescued them.
To You they cried and were delivered;
in You they trusted and were not put to shame.
But I am a worm and not a man,
scorned by humankind and despised by the people.
All who see me mock me;
they make mouths at me; they shake their heads:
“He trusted in YHWH; let Him rescue him;
let Him deliver him, for He delights in him!”
Yet You are the One who drew me from the womb;
You made me trust You on my mother’s breasts.
On You I was cast from birth,
and from the womb You have been my God.
Be not far from me,
for trouble is near, and there is no one to help.
Many bulls encompass me;
strong ones of Bashan surround me;
they open wide their mouths at me,
like a ravening and roaring lion.
I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint.
My heart is like wax;
it is melted within my breast.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;
You lay me in the dust of death.
For dogs encompass me;
a company of evildoers encircles me;
they pierce my hands and feet.
I can count all my bones—
they stare and gloat over me.
They divide my garments among them,
and for my clothing they cast lots.
But You, YHWH, do not be far off!
O my strength, come quickly to help me!
Deliver my being from the sword,
my life from the power of the dog!
Save me from the mouth of the lion!
From the horns of the wild oxen You have answered me.
I will declare Your name to my brothers and sisters;
in the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
You who fear YHWH, praise Him!
All you offspring of Jacob, glorify Him,
and stand in awe of Him, all you offspring of Israel!
For He has not despised or abhorred
the affliction of the afflicted,
nor has He hidden His face from him;
but when he cried to Him, He heard.
From You comes my praise in the great assembly;
my vows I will perform before those who fear Him.
The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied;
those who seek Him shall praise YHWH.
May your hearts live forever!
All the ends of the earth shall remember
and turn to YHWH,
and all the families of the nations
shall worship before You.
For the kingdom belongs to YHWH,
and He rules over the nations.
All the prosperous of the earth shall eat and worship;
before Him shall bow all who go down to the dust,
even the one who could not keep himself alive.
Posterity shall serve Him;
it shall be told of YHWH to the coming generation.
They shall come and proclaim His righteousness
to a people yet unborn,
that He has done it.
YHWH is my shepherd; I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my being.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for the sake of His name.
Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and covenant love shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of YHWH
forever.
The earth is YHWH’s and all it contains,
the world and those who dwell in it.
For He has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
Who may ascend the mountain of YHWH?
And who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to falsehood
and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from YHWH
and righteousness from the God of his rescue.
Such is the generation of those who seek Him,
who seek Your face, O God of Jacob.
Selah.
Lift up your heads, O gates!
Be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of Glory may come in!
Who is this King of Glory?
YHWH, strong and mighty,
YHWH, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
Lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of Glory may come in!
Who is this King of Glory?
YHWH of Hosts—
He is the King of Glory.
Selah.
To You, YHWH, I lift up my soul.
O my God, in You I trust;
let me not be put to shame;
let not my enemies exult over me.
Indeed, none who wait for You shall be put to shame;
they shall be ashamed who act treacherously without cause.
Make me know Your ways, YHWH;
teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
for You are the God of my rescue;
for You I wait all day long.
Remember Your compassion, YHWH, and Your covenant love,
for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to Your covenant love remember me,
for the sake of Your goodness, YHWH.
Good and upright is YHWH;
therefore He instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble His way.
All the paths of YHWH are covenant love and faithfulness
for those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
For Your name’s sake, YHWH,
pardon my guilt, for it is great.
Who is the one who fears YHWH?
He will instruct him in the way he should choose.
His soul shall abide in well-being,
and his offspring shall inherit the land.
The intimate counsel of YHWH is with those who fear Him,
and He makes known to them His covenant.
My eyes are ever toward YHWH,
for He will pluck my feet out of the net.
Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.
The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
bring me out of my distresses.
Consider my affliction and my trouble,
and forgive all my sins.
Consider how many are my foes,
and with what violent hatred they hate me.
Guard my soul, and deliver me;
let me not be put to shame,
for I take refuge in You.
May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
for I wait for You.
Redeem Israel, O God,
out of all his troubles.
Vindicate me, YHWH,
for I have walked in my integrity,
and I have trusted in YHWH without wavering.
Prove me, YHWH, and try me;
test my heart and my mind.
For Your covenant love is before my eyes,
and I walk in Your faithfulness.
I do not sit with men of falsehood,
nor do I consort with hypocrites.
I hate the assembly of evildoers,
and I will not sit with the wicked.
I wash my hands in innocence
and go around Your altar, YHWH,
proclaiming thanksgiving aloud,
and telling all Your wondrous deeds.
YHWH, I love the habitation of Your house
and the place where Your glory dwells.
Do not sweep away my soul with sinners,
nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
in whose hands are evil devices,
and whose right hands are full of bribes.
But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity;
redeem me, and be gracious to me.
My foot stands on level ground;
in the great assembly I will bless YHWH.
YHWH is my light and my rescue;
whom shall I fear?
YHWH is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers assail me
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes—
it is they who stumble and fall.
Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.
One thing have I asked of YHWH,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of YHWH
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of YHWH
and to seek Him in His temple.
For He will hide me in His shelter
in the day of trouble;
He will conceal me under the cover of His tent;
He will lift me high upon a rock.
And now my head shall be lifted up
above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in His tent
sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to YHWH.
Hear, YHWH, when I cry aloud;
be gracious to me and answer me!
You have said, “Seek My face.”
My heart says to You, “Your face, YHWH, I do seek.”
Hide not Your face from me.
Turn not Your servant away in anger,
You who have been my help.
Do not forsake me or abandon me,
O God of my rescue!
For my father and my mother have forsaken me,
but YHWH will take me in.
Teach me Your way, YHWH,
and lead me on a level path
because of my enemies.
Give me not up to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses have risen against me,
and they breathe out violence.
I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of YHWH
in the land of the living!
Wait for YHWH;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for YHWH.
To You, YHWH, I cry;
my Rock, be not deaf to me,
lest, if You be silent to me,
I become like those who go down to the pit.
Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy,
when I cry to You for help,
when I lift up my hands
toward Your Most Holy Place.
Do not drag me off with the wicked,
with the workers of evil,
who speak peace with their neighbors
while evil is in their hearts.
Give to them according to their deeds
and according to the evil of their actions;
according to the work of their hands give to them;
render them their due reward.
Because they do not regard the works of YHWH
or the deeds of His hands,
He will tear them down and build them up no more.
Blessed be YHWH!
For He has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
YHWH is my strength and my shield;
in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to Him.
YHWH is the strength of His people;
He is the saving refuge of His anointed.
Oh, save Your people and bless Your heritage!
Be their shepherd and carry them forever.
Ascribe to YHWH, O sons of the mighty,
ascribe to YHWH glory and strength.
Ascribe to YHWH the glory due His name;
worship YHWH in the splendor of holiness.
The voice of YHWH is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
YHWH over mighty waters.
The voice of YHWH is powerful;
the voice of YHWH is full of majesty.
The voice of YHWH breaks the cedars;
YHWH breaks the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
and Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of YHWH flashes forth flames of fire.
The voice of YHWH shakes the wilderness;
YHWH shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of YHWH makes the deer give birth
and strips the forests bare,
and in His temple all cry, “Glory!”
YHWH sits enthroned over the flood;
YHWH sits enthroned as King forever.
May YHWH give strength to His people!
May YHWH bless His people with peace.
I will exalt You, YHWH, for You have lifted me up
and did not let my foes rejoice over me.
YHWH my God, I cried to You for help,
and You healed me.
YHWH, You brought up my being from the realm of the dead;
You restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.
Sing praises to YHWH, O you His faithful ones,
and give thanks to His holy name.
For His anger is but for a moment,
and His favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may stay for the night,
but joy comes in the morning.
As for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I shall never be moved.”
By Your favor, YHWH,
You made my mountain stand strong.
You hid Your face; I was dismayed.
To You, YHWH, I cry,
and to YHWH I make supplication:
“What gain is there in my death,
if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise You?
Will it tell of Your faithfulness?
Hear, YHWH, and be gracious to me!
YHWH, be my helper!”
You have turned my mourning into dancing;
You have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
that my heart may sing Your praise and not be silent.
YHWH my God, I will give thanks to You forever!
In You, YHWH, I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in Your righteousness.
Incline Your ear to me;
rescue me quickly!
Be a rock of refuge for me,
a strong fortress to save me!
For You are my rock and my stronghold;
and for the sake of Your name You lead me and guide me.
You pull me out of the net they have hidden for me,
for You are my refuge.
Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, YHWH, God of truth.
I hate those who pay regard to worthless idols,
but I trust in YHWH.
I will rejoice and be glad in Your covenant love,
because You have seen my affliction;
You have known the distress of my soul,
and You have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy;
You have set my feet in a wide place.
Be gracious to me, YHWH, for I am in distress;
my eye is wasted from grief—
my soul and my body also.
For my life is spent with sorrow,
and my years with sighing;
my strength fails because of my iniquity,
and my bones waste away.
Because of all my adversaries I have become a reproach,
especially to my neighbors,
and an object of dread to my acquaintances;
those who see me in the street flee from me.
I have been forgotten like one who is dead;
I have become like a broken vessel.
For I hear the whispering of many—
terror on every side!—
as they scheme together against me,
as they plot to take my life.
But I trust in You, YHWH;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in Your hand;
rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!
Make Your face shine on Your servant;
save me in Your steadfast love!
O YHWH, let me not be put to shame,
for I call upon You;
let the wicked be put to shame;
let them be silent in Sheol.
Let the lying lips be mute,
which speak arrogantly against the righteous
with pride and contempt.
Oh, how abundant is Your goodness,
which You have stored up for those who fear You
and worked for those who take refuge in You,
in the sight of the children of humanity!
In the shelter of Your presence You hide them
from the plots of people;
You store them in Your shelter
from the strife of tongues.
Blessed be YHWH,
for He has wondrously shown His covenant love to me
when I was besieged.
I had said in my alarm, “I am cut off from before Your eyes.”
But You heard the voice of my pleas for mercy
when I cried to You for help.
Love YHWH, all you His faithful ones!
YHWH preserves the trustworthy
but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for YHWH.
Blessed is the one whose transgression is lifted,
whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the person against whom YHWH counts no guilt,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up as in the heat of summer.
Selah.
I acknowledged my sin to You,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to YHWH,”
and You forgave the guilt of my sin.
Selah.
Therefore let everyone who is faithful
offer prayer to You at a time when You may be found;
surely in the rush of great waters
they shall not reach him.
You are a hiding place for me;
You preserve me from trouble;
You surround me with shouts of deliverance.
Selah.
I will instruct you and teach you
in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
which must be curbed with bit and bridle,
or it will not stay near you.
Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in YHWH.
Be glad in YHWH, and rejoice, O righteous,
and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
Shout for joy in YHWH, O you righteous!
Praise befits the upright.
Give thanks to YHWH with the lyre;
make melody to Him with the harp of ten strings.
Sing to Him a new song;
play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
For the word of YHWH is upright,
and all His work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the covenant love of YHWH.
By the word of YHWH the heavens were made,
and by the breath of His mouth all their host.
He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap;
He puts the deeps in storehouses.
Let all the earth revere YHWH;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him!
For He spoke, and it came to be;
He commanded, and it stood firm.
YHWH brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
The counsel of YHWH stands forever,
the plans of His heart to all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is YHWH,
the people whom He has chosen as His heritage!
YHWH looks down from heaven;
He sees all the children of humanity;
from where He sits enthroned He observes
all the inhabitants of the earth—
He who fashions the hearts of them all
and observes all their deeds.
The king is not rescued by his great army;
a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
The war horse is a false hope for rescue,
and by its great might it cannot deliver.
Behold, the eye of YHWH is on those who revere Him,
on those who hope in His covenant love,
that He may deliver their soul from death
and keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for YHWH;
He is our help and our shield.
For our heart is glad in Him,
because we trust in His holy name.
Let Your covenant love, YHWH, be upon us,
even as we hope in You.
I will bless YHWH at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in YHWH;
let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify YHWH with me,
and let us exalt His name together!
I sought YHWH, and He answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and YHWH heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
The messenger of YHWH encamps
around those who fear Him, and delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that YHWH is good!
Blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him!
Oh, fear YHWH, you His saints,
for those who fear Him have no lack!
The young lions suffer want and hunger,
but those who seek YHWH lack no good thing.
Come, O children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of YHWH.
What man is there who desires life
and loves many days, that he may see good?
Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit.
Turn away from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of YHWH are toward the righteous
and His ears toward their cry.
The face of YHWH is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
When the righteous cry for help, YHWH hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
YHWH is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but YHWH delivers him out of them all.
He keeps all his bones;
not one of them is broken.
Affliction will slay the wicked,
and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
YHWH redeems the life of His servants;
none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.
Contend, O YHWH, with those who contend with me;
fight against those who fight against me!
Take hold of shield and buckler
and rise for my help!
Draw the spear and javelin against my pursuers!
Say to my soul, “I am your rescue!”
Let those be put to shame and dishonor
who seek after my life!
Let those be turned back and confounded
who devise evil against me!
Let them be like chaff before the wind,
with the messenger of YHWH driving them away!
Let their way be dark and slippery,
with the messenger of YHWH pursuing them!
For without cause they hid their net for me;
without cause they dug a pit for my life.
Let destruction come upon him when he does not know it!
And let the net that he hid ensnare him;
let him fall into it—to his destruction!
Then my soul will rejoice in YHWH,
exulting in His rescue.
All my bones shall say,
“O YHWH, who is like You,
delivering the poor from one too strong for him,
the poor and needy from him who robs him?”
Malicious witnesses rise up;
they ask me of things I do not know.
They repay me evil for good—
my soul is forlorn.
But I, when they were sick—
I wore sackcloth;
I afflicted myself with fasting;
I prayed with head bowed on my chest.
I went about as though grieving for my friend or my brother;
as one who laments his mother,
I bowed down in mourning.
But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered;
they gathered together against me;
wretches whom I did not know
tore at me without ceasing.
Like profane mockers at a feast,
they gnash at me with their teeth.
How long, YHWH, will You look on?
Rescue my soul from their destruction,
my life from the lions!
I will thank You in the great congregation;
in the mighty throng I will praise You.
Let not those rejoice over me
who are wrongfully my foes,
nor let those wink the eye
who hate me without cause.
For they do not speak peace,
but against the quiet ones of the land
they devise words of deceit.
They open wide their mouths against me;
they say, “Aha, aha! Our eyes have seen it!”
You have seen, YHWH; be not silent!
O YHWH, be not far from me!
Awake and rouse Yourself for my vindication,
for my cause, my God and my Master!
Vindicate me, YHWH my God,
according to Your righteousness,
and let them not rejoice over me!
Let them not say in their hearts,
“Aha, our soul’s desire!”
Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.”
Let them be put to shame and disappointed altogether
who rejoice at my calamity!
Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor
who magnify themselves against me!
Let those who delight in my vindication
shout for joy and be glad
and say evermore,
“Great is YHWH,
who delights in the welfare of His servant!”
Then my tongue shall tell of Your righteousness
and of Your praise all day long.
Transgression speaks to the wicked
deep in his heart;
there is no fear of God
before his eyes.
For he flatters himself in his own eyes
that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit;
he has ceased to act wisely and do good.
He plots trouble while on his bed;
he sets himself in a way that is not good;
he does not reject evil.
Your covenant love, YHWH, extends to the heavens,
Your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains;
Your judgments are like the great deep;
man and beast You save, YHWH.
How precious is Your covenant love, O God!
The children of humanity
take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
They feast on the abundance of Your house,
and You give them drink from the river of Your delights.
For with You is the fountain of life;
in Your light we see light.
Oh, continue Your covenant love
to those who know You,
and Your righteousness to the upright of heart!
Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me,
nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
There the evildoers lie fallen;
they are thrust down, unable to rise.
Do not fret because of evildoers;
do not be envious of wrongdoers!
For they will soon fade like the grass
and wither like the green herb.
Trust in YHWH, and do good;
dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
Delight yourself in YHWH,
and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to YHWH;
trust in Him, and He will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday.
Be still before YHWH and wait patiently for Him;
do not fret over the one who prospers in his way,
over the one who carries out evil schemes.
Refrain from anger and forsake wrath!
Fret not yourself—it tends only to evil.
For the evildoers shall be cut off,
but those who wait for YHWH shall inherit the land.
In just a little while, the wicked will be no more;
though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.
But the meek shall inherit the land
and delight themselves in abundant peace.
The wicked plots against the righteous
and gnashes his teeth at him,
but YHWH laughs at the wicked,
for He sees that his day is coming.
The wicked draw the sword and bend their bow
to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose way is upright;
their sword shall enter their own heart,
and their bows shall be broken.
Better is the little that the righteous has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but YHWH upholds the righteous.
YHWH knows the days of the blameless,
and their heritage will remain forever;
they are not put to shame in evil times;
in the days of famine they have abundance.
But the wicked will perish;
the enemies of YHWH are like the glory of the pastures—
they vanish—like smoke they vanish away.
The wicked borrows but does not pay back,
but the righteous is generous and gives.
For those blessed by YHWH shall inherit the land,
but those cursed by Him shall be cut off.
The steps of a person are established by YHWH,
when He delights in his way;
though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong,
for YHWH upholds his hand.
I have been young, and now am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or his children begging for bread.
He is ever lending generously,
and his children become a blessing.
Turn away from evil and do good;
so shall you dwell forever.
For YHWH loves justice;
He will not forsake His faithful ones.
They are preserved forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
The righteous shall inherit the land
and dwell upon it forever.
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom,
and his tongue speaks justice.
The Torah of his God is in his heart;
his steps do not slip.
The wicked watches for the righteous
and seeks to put him to death.
YHWH will not abandon him to his power
or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.
Wait for YHWH and keep His way,
and He will exalt you to inherit the land;
you will look on when the wicked are cut off.
I have seen a ruthless man,
spreading himself like a green laurel tree.
But he passed away, and behold, he was no more;
though I sought him, he could not be found.
Mark the blameless and behold the upright,
for there is a future for the person of peace.
But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed;
the future of the wicked shall be cut off.
The rescue of the righteous is from YHWH;
He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
YHWH helps them and delivers them;
He delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in Him.
YHWH, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
or discipline me in Your wrath!
For Your arrows have sunk into me,
and Your hand has come down on me.
There is no soundness in my flesh
because of Your indignation;
there is no health in my bones
because of my sin.
For my iniquities have gone over my head;
like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.
My wounds stink and fester
because of my foolishness,
I am utterly bowed down and prostrate;
all the day I go about mourning.
For my sides are filled with burning,
and there is no soundness in my flesh.
I am feeble and crushed;
I groan because of the turmoil of my heart.
Lord, all my longing is before You;
my sighing is not hidden from You.
My heart throbs; my strength fails me,
and the light of my eyes—it also has gone from me.
My friends and companions stand aloof from my plague,
and my nearest kin stand far off.
Those who seek my life lay their snares;
those who seek my hurt speak of ruin
and meditate treachery all day long.
But I am like a deaf man—I do not hear;
like a mute man who does not open his mouth.
I have become like a man who does not hear,
and in whose mouth are no replies.
But for You, YHWH, do I wait;
It is You, my God, who will answer.
For I said, “Let them not rejoice over me,
who boast against me when my foot slips!”
For I am ready to fall,
and my pain is ever before me.
I confess my iniquity;
I am sorry for my sin.
But my foes are vigorous, they are mighty,
and many are those who hate me wrongfully.
Those who render me evil for good
accuse me because I follow what is good.
Do not forsake me, YHWH!
O my God, be not far from me!
Make haste to help me,
O Sovereign, my rescue!
I said, “I will guard my ways,
that I may not sin with my tongue;
I will muzzle my mouth
as long as the wicked are in my presence.”
I was mute and silent;
I held my peace to no avail,
and my distress grew worse.
My heart became hot within me.
As I mused, the fire burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:
“YHWH, make me know my end
and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting I am!
Behold, You have made my days a few handbreadths,
and my lifetime is as nothing before You.
Surely all mankind stands as a breath!”
Selah.
“Surely a person goes about as a shadow!
Surely for nothing they are in turmoil;
they heap up wealth and do not know who will gather it.
And now, O Sovereign, for what do I wait?
My hope is in You.
Deliver me from all my transgressions.
Do not make me the scorn of fools!
I am mute; I do not open my mouth,
for it is You who have done it.
Remove Your stroke from me;
I am spent by the hostility of Your hand.
When You discipline a person
with rebukes for sin,
You consume like a moth what is dear to him;
surely all mankind is a breath.”
Selah.
“Hear my prayer, YHWH,
and give ear to my cry;
hold not Your peace at my tears!
For I am a sojourner with You,
a guest, like all my ancestors.
Look away from me, that I may smile again,
before I depart and am no more.”
I waited patiently for YHWH;
He inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in YHWH.
Blessed is the one who makes YHWH his trust,
who does not turn to the proud,
to those who go astray after a lie!
You have multiplied, YHWH my God,
Your wondrous deeds and Your thoughts toward us;
none can compare with You!
I will proclaim and tell of them,
yet they are more than can be told.
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire—
but You have opened my ears.
Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
Then I said, “Behold, I come;
in the scroll of the book it is written of me:
I delight to do Your will, O my God;
Your instruction is within my heart.”
I have told the glad news of righteousness
in the great assembly;
behold, I have not restrained my lips,
as You know, YHWH.
I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your covenant love and Your truth
from the great assembly.
As for You, YHWH, You will not restrain
Your mercy from me;
Your covenant love and Your truth
will continually preserve me!
For evils have encompassed me beyond number;
my iniquities have overtaken me, and I cannot see;
they are more than the hairs of my head;
my heart fails me.
Be pleased, YHWH, to deliver me!
YHWH, make haste to help me!
Let those be put to shame and disappointed altogether
who seek to snatch away my life!
Let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
who delight in my hurt!
Let those be appalled because of their shame
who say to me, “Aha, aha!”
But may all who seek You
rejoice and be glad in You;
may those who love Your rescue
say continually, “Great is YHWH!”
As for me, I am poor and needy,
but the Sovereign takes thought for me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
do not delay, O my God!
Blessed is the one who considers the weak!
YHWH delivers him in the day of trouble;
YHWH protects him and keeps him alive;
he is called blessed in the land.
You do not give him up to the will of his enemies.
YHWH sustains him on his sickbed;
in his illness You restore him to full health.
As for me, I said, “YHWH, be gracious to me;
heal me, for I have sinned against You!”
My enemies say of me in malice,
“When will he die, and his name perish?”
And when one comes to see me, he utters empty words,
while his heart gathers iniquity;
when he goes out, he tells it abroad.
All who hate me whisper together about me;
they imagine the worst for me.
They say, “A deadly thing is poured out on him;
he will not rise again from where he lies.”
Even my close friend in whom I trusted,
who ate my bread,
has lifted his heel against me.
But You, YHWH, be gracious to me,
and raise me up, that I may repay them!
By this I know that You delight in me:
my enemy does not triumph over me.
But You have upheld me because of my integrity,
and set me in Your presence forever.
Blessed be YHWH, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting!
Amen and Amen.
